Learning Log 12/18
Today in the "Crucible" John Proctor signs a confession to witchcraft. After he signs Danforth then mentions that it be posted on the church. John immediately demands that the paper not be hanged on the church door for God has seen him confess to the court. Danforth knows that the confession is false so he finally gets Proctor to admit that he does not want to sell out his friends or ruin his name. I can only hope that people in the real world would follow the morals of John Proctor. For John speaks from the heart when he mentions about his one good name. People should understand that they have just one chance at having a good reputation. The types of people that understand that will be greatly rewarded with a good reputation. John also is saying that he would rather die than to ruin his name. The author is trying to teach the reader that they should have so much pride in what they do that they would die to keep that pride.
